Kedangpahu Surface Geological Mapping

Timeframe: August 2019–February 2020

The aim of this project is:

  1. To carry out a detailed analysis of the age and geological structure of the outcrop which will be used for seismic interpretation of low quality seismic, especially in the Kedangpahu region. The reconstruction also helps with the interpolation of the seismic horizon within the study area,
  2. To reduce the uncertainty of Kedangpahu - Artos prospect by directly observing the fault lineament on the surface and shear zone observation for fault seal analysis,
  3. To understand the distribution of Miocene facies to help update GDE maps of Early Miocene,
  4. To find oil seepage based on information from local residents, there are 3 locations of oil seep that have different characters. The different characters of oil can indicate different source rock or different levels of maturity.

Scope of Work:

  • Compilation of existing geological data.
  • Fieldwork.
  • Ship samples to a laboratory and compilation of laboratory result/data.
  • Preparation of reports, maps, and cross-sections.
